Adaptec Snap Server 720i

For small and medium sized business many different combination of drives, controllers and software are available in storage array. One such example is the Adaptec Snap Server 720i - NAS server. The Snap Server 720i supports SATA drives and offers storage capacities from 1TB to 35TB. It offers an easy to manage storage and is compatible with Windows, Linux, and VMware. Adaptec Snap Server 720i can be flexibly allocated via an IP SAN to application servers such as Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, and Oracle while they are up and running. It has dimensions of 44.5cmX74.3cmX4.4cm (WDH) and weighs 18.6 kgs.

This Adaptec Snap Server 720i - NAS server comes with four SATA drives, a single power supply, and three Gigabit Ethernet cards to connect to an iSCSI SAN and to your management console. However you can easily expand to more than 4 hard drives, as many as eight Adaptec SANbloc S50 expansion modules, 2U enclosures loaded with as many as 12 SAS (serial attached SCSI) or SATA drives. The Adaptec controller inside the 720i supports just about any RAID level.

Set-up
Setting up 720i is very simple and easy. Just connect the management port of the data subnet and the other two GigE ports on the back of the unit to the SAN. Adaptec Snap Server 720i has only one power supply and its onboard management software can also monitor a UPS.
