The D-Link DNS-323 2-Bay Network Storage Enclosure, enables you to share documents, files, and digital media such as music, photos, and video with everyone on the home or office network,  when used with internal SATA drives. It has a built in FTP server which allows you to remotely access the files through internet, where you can keep your data safe by only giving rights to specific users or groups.

D-Link DNS-323 is an embedded Linux device. This is idle for the home where you can ensure that your children will only have access to age appropriate material or for an office environment with employee specific information.

Features:

  • Without installing any software on the computer, the DNS-323 will be available to any computer on your network.
  • While configuring the DNS-323, you can also create users and groups and assign them to folders with either read or read/write permissions.
  • You can back up your music, photo, and video collections to the DNS-323 for safekeeping. Memeo’s Auto backup software is included with the device, if you don’t have much idea about backing up.
  • Main feature is that it provides four different hard drive modes (Standard, JBOD, RAID 0, RAID1) which allows you to choose the configuration best suited to your needs.
  • It includes a CD which contains D-Link’s Easy Search Utility., which allows you to easily locate the DNS-323 anywhere on the network.
  • The box has a very quiet fan, so there should be no worries with over-heating.

Overall, the D-Link DNS-323 is a good piece of equipment and a great network storage device for beginners and professionals. It’s very Easy to use and provides flexible software.  I would definitely recommend to anyone for back up purpose.
