Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100
January 29, 2008 – 7:20 amSony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 an ultra-slim, ultra-compact digital camera from Sony shoots at up to 8.1 megapixels with a stabilized 5x optical zoom lens. It features a 9-point autofocus mode, an extremely useful feature normally found on much higher-end cameras such as digital SLRs. It has a large 3 inch LCD screen that supplies an extremely wide view; the display stays clear and colorful, even when looking at it from a near-90-degree angle in any direction.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 comes in silver, black and red. Made of all metal body it measures only 0.875-inch thick and weighs a bit more than six ounces. It’s easily pocketable and includes a higher 8.2MP resolution, a more powerful zoom, a better processor and Face Detection. The T100 is just a bit taller and wider than a credit card, but it’s about as thick as a deck of playing cards. There’s a thumb well on the back, and a chrome bar on the front for your middle finger to hug while your forefinger tap dances on the Shutter button. At the top of the back panel you’ll find the Zoom rocker, just where you’d expect to find it. And below the thumb well, you’ll find the Menu button. Just below that is the cropped four-way navigator, its left and right sides sliced off to fit the narrow column next to the LCD, with an OK button in the middle. And below that is the Home button, which gets you to the camera’s top level shooting, playback, printing, memory management, and setup modes. There are just three other controls: a Power button and Playback toggle on the top panel, which bevels toward the back panel, and the Shutter button.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 takes great looking pictures with plenty of details. Pictures stay sharp and free of noise as high as ISO 400. The cameras macro and super-macro modes can be used to take really impress close-up shots. Movies captured in Fine mode look very good, as long as the motion doesn’t get too complex. A minute of video takes about 77MB of disk space. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 demonstrates exactly what a good snapshot camera should be and it shoots great photos at a fast clip.
